CSU Columbus Ballet Conservatory - Performances

SnowflakesBackstage2004 The Columbus Ballet performs the Nutcracker with orchestra and choir each fall at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts. The performance dates for 2009 are November 28 & 29. Nutcracker auditions are open to any dancer or actor in the valley area. These auditions will be held on August 22, 2009. Volunteers are also needed to help with this production. Call 706.641.4000 for further information. Season tickets will be available beginning in July.

The Columbus Ballet Conservatory asks their students to participate in a demonstration performance at CSU's University Hall in May each year. This performance is an informal demonstration in normal dance attire with accessories, such as a colored skirts and ribbons for the hair. Boys will be in normal attire. There are no costumes to buy. All costumes are provided by Columbus Ballet. There is only a $10 performance fee.

The Columbus Ballet is the non-profit company that performs the Nutcracker in the fall and a company repertory performance in the spring that includes one act from a classical ballet and new works. Check Calendar of Events for current dates and information. The company also performs at festivals and schools in the valley area. Girls with at least a 1/2 year of pointe and boys who are at least 11 years old will be eligible to audition for the company. There is a Junior and Senior Division of the Columbus Ballet company. Company auditions will be held once a year on the third Saturday of August (August 15,2009).

All auditions are held at the Rankin Arts Center, 1004 Broadway, 2nd floor.
