Ballet programThe Nutcracker

The Columbus Ballet first partnered with Columbus State University’s Continuing Education program in 2002 to train young ballet dancers through the Columbus Ballet Conservatory at the Rankin Arts Center.

The Columbus Ballet Conservatory is the official school of the Columbus Ballet and has classes for 3-year olds through adults. The Columbus Ballet uses conservatory students in its productions. Students ages 7 and older can participate in The Nutcracker, an annual production. Columbus Ballet company dancers are advanced dancers in the conservatory who have auditioned for the company and are on pointe. They perform the major roles in The Nutcracker and Spring Repertory program.

NOTE: Some information on the fall ballet schedule in the Music & Ballet catalog fall 2008 is incorrect. You will find the correct information on the class schedules page of this web site.

By far, the Columbus Ballet Conservatory is the most impressive ballet program we've been a part of. Worlds better than the children's program at the Atlanta Ballet. David Herriott is awesome! My daughter has learned more in 5 months than she did in 5 years in ther programs!
